【摘要】:Thisguideprovidestechniquesforobtainingrepresentativesamplesofoilandwatermixtures.Thisinformationisnecessaryinthecalculationofoilrecoveryefficiencyandoilrecoveryratesforoilcollectiondevices.SamplingStationaryMixtures8212;Whenrecoveredoil/watermixturesarecontainedwithinaholdingtankandtherelativeoilcontentoftherecoveredfluidisneeded,thesamplingtechniqueissomewhatdependentonthecontainer.Twotechniquesareoutlinedinthisguide.Ifthecontainerhasaflatbottomwithstraightsidesperpendiculartothebase(ornearlyso),eitherstationarytechniquecanbeimplemented,withthestratifiedsamplingmethodpreferred.Ifthecontainerisirregularineitherthehorizontalorverticalcrosssection,themixingmethodispreferred.SamplingFlowingMixtures8212;Tosampleflowingmixturescontainingbothoilandwater,turbulenceisinduced,tocreateahomogenousmixturewhilesampling.Theoilcontentinthesampletakenfromtheflowingstreamcanthenbeusedtoquantifytheperformanceratingcriterion(seeProcedureSectionofTestMethodD1796).1.1Thisguideisintendedforsamplingflowingorstationaryoil/watermixtures.Itisintendedforusewithoilspillrecoverydeviceseitherintestingorindocumentationoffieldperformance.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
