【摘要】:Thistechniqueisdesignedforon-siterapidscreeningandcharacterizationofenvironmentalsoilandwatersamplesresultinginsignificantcostsavingsforenvironmentalremediationprojects.Remoteanalysiscanbemadewithopticalfiberswhensituationswarrantordemanduseofthisoption.QuantificationoftotalAHsandPAHsintheseenvironmentalsamplesisaccomplishedbyhavingasubsetofthesamplesanalyzedbyanalternatetechniqueandgeneratingasite-specificcalibrationcurve.SynchronousfluorescenceprovidessufficientspectralinformationtocharacterizetheAHsandPAHspresentasbenzene,toluene,ethylbenzeneandxylene(s)(BTEX),thearomaticportionoftotalpetroleumhydrocarbons(TPH),orlargearomaticringsystemsuptoatleastsevenfusedrings,suchasmightbefoundincreosote.1.1Thistestmethodcoversarapidmethodforthescreeningofenvironmentalsamplesforaromatichydrocarbons(AHs)andpolycyclicaromatichydrocarbons(PAHs).ThescreeningtakesplaceinthefieldandprovidesimmediatefeedbackonlimitsofcontaminationbysubstancescontainingAHsandPAHs.Quantificationisobtainedbytheuseofappropriatelycharacterized,site-specificcalibrationcurves.Remotesensingbyuseofopticalfibersisusefulforaccessingdifficulttoreachareasorpotentiallydangerousmaterialsorsituations.Whencontaminationoffieldpersonnelbydangerousmaterialsisapossibility,useofremotesensorsmayminimizeoreliminatethelikelihoodofsuchcontaminationtakingplace.1.2ThistestmethodisapplicabletoAHsandPAHspresentinsamplesextractedfromsoilsorinwater.Thistestmethodisapplicableforfieldscreeningor,withanappropriatecalibration,quantificationoftotalAHsandPAHs.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
