【摘要】:Testsmadeonamaterialunderconditionshereinprescribedareofvalueincomparingtherateofburningorextentandtimeofburningcharacteristics,orboth,ofdifferentmaterials,incontrollingmanufacturingprocesses,orasameasureofdeteriorationorchangeintheseburningcharacteristicspriortoorduringuse.Correlationwithflammabilityunderactualuseconditionsisnotimplied.Therateofburningandotherburningphenomenawillbeaffectedbysuchfactorsasdensity,pigments,anyanisotropyofthematerialandthethicknessofthespecimen.Testdatashallbecomparedonlyforspecimensofsimilarthickness,whethercomparisonsarebeingmadewiththesameordifferentmaterials.Therateofburningandotherburningphenomenawillvarywiththickness.Itisfeasiblethatsheetmaterialsthathavebeenstretchedduringprocessingwillrelaxduringburningandgiveerraticresultsunlesstheyarefirstheatedabovetheirdeflectiontemperature,inaccordancewithTestMethodD648,foratimesufficienttopermitcompleterelaxation.Burningtestsrequirethatcertainvariablesbearbitrarilyfixed,forexample,specimensize,energysourceandapplicationtime,andendpoints.Materialswillbefoundthatareunusuallysensitivetooneormoreoftheconditionschosenforthismethodleadingtohighlyvariableresults.Additionalburningcharacterizationbyothermethodsishighlydesirableinsuchcases(seeNote2).Inthisprocedure,thespecimensaresubjectedtospecificlaboratorytestconditions.Ifdifferenttestconditionsaresubstitutedortheend-useconditionsarechanged,itwillnotalwaysbepossiblebyorfromthistesttopredictchangesinthefire-test-responsecharacteristicsmeasured.Therefore,theresultsarevalidonlyforthefire-test-exposureconditionsdescribedinthisprocedure.1.1Thisfire-test-responsetestmethodcoversasmall-scalelaboratoryscreeningprocedureforcomparingtherelativelinearrateofburningorextentandtimeofburning,orboth,ofplasticsintheformofbars,moldedorcutfromsheets,plates,orpanels,andtestedinthehorizontalposition.Note18212;Thistestmethod,andtestmethodAofIEC60695-11-10aretechnicallyequivalent.Note28212;Foradditionalinformationonmaterialswhichdonotburntothefirstreferencemarkbythistest,seeTestMethodD3801.1.2Thistestmethodwasdevelopedforpolymericmaterialsusedforpartsindevicesandappliances.Theresultsareintendedtoserveasapreliminaryindicationoftheiracceptabilitywithrespecttoflammabilityforaparticularapplication.Thefinalacceptanceofthematerialisdependentuponitsuseincompleteequipmentthatconformswiththestandardapplicabletosuchequipment.1.3TheclassificationsystemdescribedinAppendixX1isintendedforqualityassuranceandthepreselectionofcomponentmaterialsforproducts.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardsorfireriskassessmentofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itist......
